What happens if new COVID-19 restrictions mean we have to change our travel?

Operating during the pandemic has its challenges and we recommend travel insurance.  We will attempt to rebook you to another flight/ service to accommodate any unforeseen changes in timing or date.  In the event of cancellation due to COVID-19 related complications, we will offer a credit for the same value (less booking fee) for your future use.  Re-booking will be at the next best available rate should your original sector fare no longer be available.

What happens if new COVID-19 restrictions mean we have to cancel our travel?

Refunds will not be issued outside of the standard cancellation period because of COVID-19 related implications. Special Terms and Conditions Apply during the Pandemic including 2022 and we recommend you speak with one of our team at the time of booking to ensure you are fully aware of these.  They are also included in your E-Ticket at the time of booking and we would be happy to discuss should have any questions.

Does your service operate year-round and is there a set schedule?

Yes, we operate 365 days of the year from sunrise to sunset, weather permitting.  In order to ensure we can accommodate every guest, we do not operate to a set timetable.  We schedule our flights to connect with international arrivals and departures and also fit in other requests where possible.  While we cannot accept booking requests for a specific time, we can in most cases accommodate requests for morning or afternoon transfers. We will notify our guests of their flight time the day prior or, in the case of the guest arriving from overseas, at their hotel after the close of business via the hotel front desk.

How long does it take to fly to the islands?

Flying time to the Mamanucas varies from ten to fifteen minutes dependent on the Island you choose to visit.  Flight times to the Coral Coast range between twenty and twenty-five minutes. For more information on flight times, please see our flight time pages on this website.

Where does the helicopter operate from?

Island Hoppers is based at Nadi Airport. We operate from this site as well as from Denarau, where we have a helipad at the Golf & Racquet club.

How do I get to the helipad?
If you are arriving on an international or domestic flight at Nadi Airport, our courtesy van will pick you up and deliver you to our helipad base where you can check in and wait in comfort in our air-conditioned lounge with complimentary cold drinks and free wi-fi. We also organize complimentary transfers from the lobby of your airport hotels or Denarau hotels to Mamanuca's resorts.

What is the maximum number of passengers that can be transported in a helicopter? We can take a maximum of six passengers in one helicopter, however if there is a larger group, we will operate more than one helicopter.

Is there a minimum number of passengers?
We require a minimum of two seats to confirm a booking.

If, however, there is one passenger only, please contact us to see if we can accommodate you.

Can I book a transfer from one Mamanuca Island to another?

Yes, you can!  Island Hoppers can transfer you from one island to another with no problem at all.  Just contact us or your resort tour desk to coordinate this for you.

Can I fly to other places in Fiji?

We can fly you to the Yasawas, Suva, Savusavu and beyond...just ask us!

Is there a baggage allowance?

We can usually only carry 15 kilos per passenger. However, if you do have more luggage, don't despair, we will be able to transport that to you on a later flight when possible or perhaps by boat, or if you really need it on the same flight, then we can try to make that happen with a small excess baggage fee. We also provide complimentary baggage storage at our airport base in case you wish to leave some bags behind to collect on your return from the resorts, just make sure you have a smaller bag with you to take to the island!

What about children’s prices?

We are proud to say that we do indeed cater for families to most destinations.  Those under 2 years of age can fly free as long as they can sit on their parent’s lap.  For those children aged 2-12 years – they only pay 70% of the adult rate.
